Having studied painting at Leeds College of Art with a Post Graduate degree in Ceramic Sculpture, a career in cartoon animation never lessened Theresa's interest in working with colour and clay and now, as a full-time artist for the past 15 years, she is producing an ever widening range of highly creative and original pottery.
Each piece is individually hand-built in white earthenware and intensely decorated over several firings, using slips and under glazing applied through a combination of painting and stencilling techniques.
“I take inspiration from the glories of the natural world around me and enjoy the challenge of expressing them in the forms and colours of what are essentially everyday objects. Of course, I cannot ignore my Scots and Caribbean heritage.”
Theresa lives and works in in London and Cornwall.
