Merlyn is a painter and a printmaker who works from a studio in Hartland, Devon. In addition to her art practice Merlyn runs printmaking courses at West Dean College, Chichester and from her studio.

Merlyn grew up in Hong Kong, returning to England to study Fine Art at Bath Academy of Art under Adrian Heath and Howard Hodgkin. She turned to woodblock printmaking in 2000 following a trip to Northern China where she was inspired by wood cuts she saw on the Mongolian border. Here they are used instead of window glass and replaced each year.

Merlyn is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and a member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen. She has work in the collections of the V&A, London, The Ashmolean, Oxford, The Edward James Foundation, City Hall Museum of Art, Hong Kong and with several private collectors. She has exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy and is the co-author of the book Making Woodblock Prints (Crowood Press). She founded the group Pine Feroda in 2013.
